Rotary Club of Swaffham donate £1,000 to Ashill after heatwave fire




Following the heatwave fire outbreak at Ashill last week the Rotary Club of Swaffham responded by donating £1,000 to the Ashill Welfare Charity Trust.

Rotary president Malcolm Whittley is pictured handing over the cheque to Ashill parish council chairman Alan Ketteringham.

The Rotary Club stated: "The Rotary Club has a history of responding to disasters wherever located but here we have a disaster right on our doorstep and members wish to help the residents so badly affected, especially the children."

Fires broke out in locations like Ashill, Brancaster and Snettisham on Tuesday, July 19, the hottest UK day ever recorded.
