Huntsman Building Solutions welcomes James Wild MP to the new Centre of Excellence
A manufacturing site at Roydon which produces energy-saving materials has invested in a new state of the art centre of excellence.
Huntsman Building Solutions (HBS) is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of open-cell and closed-cell spray polyurethane foam (SPF) insulation.
HBS invited North West Norfolk MP James Wild to have a look around its site and share the developments of the recently formed company, a combination of the North American Icynene-Lapolla and Demilec brands.
While at the site, the MP took a close look at the manufacturing facilities, laboratory testing equipment and witnessed the HBS Heatlok HFO Pro being sprayed in the new centre of excellence. Mr Wild discussed the energy saving and sustainability advantages of HBS spray foam insulation with its high values for thermal insulation as well as products containing recycled PET bottles.
He said: “Huntsman Building Solutions products can help the UK to reduce its environmental footprint at this critical time. I was impressed to get to meet the talented team and get a close look at the local production facilities and the state-of-the-art training centre.
"This significant investment is a vote of confidence in West Norfolk from Huntsman and HBS to drive forward its products that will help cut emissions and create green jobs.”
Iain Stanton, managing director of Huntsman-IFS, the manufacturing site for HBS, said: “It was a fantastic opportunity to show our dedication to the local manufacture of our industry-leading spray foam insulation and investment into the training facilities for improving the environmental, health and safety standards within the industry.
"We are pleased to have been able to host Mr Wild and look forward to working closely with our contractors to take advantage of the insulation grants offered by governments across Europe.”
Formed in May 2020 through the combination of the Demilec and Icynene-Lapolla SPF businesses, HBS is a business unit of Huntsman Corporation and has a combined heritage of more than 110 years.
Through the application of innovative technology and advanced science, HBS focuses on meeting market demands for more energy-efficient products and serves a range of industries, including residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and agricultural.
