A cyclist has raised £1,400 to help fund a motorised wheelchair for a disabled youngster by riding 200 miles around Norfolk’s county borders.

Simon Ward, a plumbing and heating engineer from Runcton Holme, completed the challenge in support of 11-year-old Thomas Fysh, of Lynn, who has cerebral palsy and other medical conditions.

The new chair can be converted to manual settings and is aimed to help Thomas, who finds walking difficult, become more independent.

Simon, who is pictured above with Thomas and his father Andy, said the chair had already given Thomas a new-found confidence and freedom.
