Running challenge in support of Norfolk theatres struggling during Covid-19 pandemic

Two West Norfolk women ran 10k today in an effort to help raise funds for theatres, including the Princess Theatre in Hunstanton.

Jenny Beake and Annie Kelly completed the run carrying a water melon and two marrows respectively.

The thinking behind this was a nod to Dirty Dancing the musical and “Tomorrow” from Annie.

Dersingham-based comedian Jenny Beake works for the Princess and was formerly employed by Norwich Theatre Royal.

She described the Norwich theatre’s struggles as “heart-breaking”.

The runners will be setting up a link for sponsors but they will be giving a cash donation to the Princess.
