The Women’s Institute celebrated 100 years of its existence this week.

The organisation began a century ago with a meeting of women on September 16, 1915 in Wales. Groups from across the country marked the occasion in many ways. Sandringham WI, who’s members include the Queen, held a Big Picnic on Old Hunstanton beach began with a rousing rendition of the WI’s anthem, Jerusalem.
