Nelson Academy in Downham celebrates Earth Day
Nelson Academy in Downham celebrated Earth Day by paying tribute to the natural world.
The Academy held a day-long festival last Saturday, with family games including storytelling, paper clay making, pond dipping, crafts, a raffle and eco demonstrations.
Refreshments were available to purchase with a discount on hot drinks for those who brought their own cup.
Special guests included West Norfolk Mayor Margaret Wilkinson and Dr Roz Wade from the Cambridge Zoology Museum.
Bexwell Army Cadets also attended, building a cardboard box fort, plus there were visits from the Ramblers’ Association, Swift, FenSong, the Tree Council, the borough council’s waste and energy departments, Wise Green Energy, West Norfolk and King’s Lynn Beekeepers' Association, Nature Volunteer Network, and Downham in Bloom.
