Terrington St John scouts raise further funds for overseas trip
Two sisters from Terrington St John are continuing their fundraising efforts to attend a scout jamboree that takes place in Korea in 2023.
Sorcha and Caoimhe Friel are part of the 3rd Marshland Scout Group and with support from their mum Victoria have been holding various events to raise money towards the trip.
Both girls are students at Marshland High School and so far have held a coffee morning and a virtual duck race.
More recently they held a bingo event at Easter in an attempt to gain the funds needed.
Victoria said: "The results from our Easter bingo came to just over £380 pounds.
"We were very pleased with how the event went, with good time had by all.
"We have the following events planned, a BBQ raffle from Samuels Butchers, to be drawn in time for the Jubilee Bank Holiday, a general knowledge quiz at The Woolpack public house in Terrington St John on Wednesday, May, 18 at 7pm.
"Also a music quiz and chips on Saturday, June 11 at Tilney St Lawrence village hall.
"We will also be attending some other local events selling sweet treats.
"We have had a camp with our Unit 26, getting to know each other better, learning new skills and doing team building activities.
"Fundraising wise we are almost at £5000 between us, but we still have a way to go."
