The ‘beach’ will be put back into Wisbech during an exciting event this Bank Holiday Monday.
People will not have to travel out of Wisbech to get a taste of the seaside when donkey rides, deck chairs and even sand will be set up in the town centre.
Wisbech Town Council will be offering buckets (and spades) full of fun when it transforms the Market Place into a beach.
A traditional seaside experience will be on offer from 11am to 3pm.
Youngsters can enjoy a ride on a donkey while parents take a break on a traditional deck chair.
Fairground rides are also part of the fun and what seaside holiday would be complete without a Punch and Judy Show?
A beach bar is also being set up plus visitors will be able to tuck into ice-cream, candy floss and fish and chips.
This is the first time the council has arranged an event of this type.
Councillors are keen to put on events which will help to attract more people to the town .
To be able to deliver more and bigger events for the community, the council is hoping to attract sponsorship. For more information contact the council on 01945 461333.
