Witnesses are being sought after a Second World War veteran had his beret stolen at the weekend.

Police have taken to social media this afternoon to appeal for the public's help to return what they described as the former serviceman's "treasured Kings Royal Rifle Corps’ beret".

The item, together with the man's coat, is believed to have been stolen from the Crown Hotel in Mundford on Saturday night.
