Senior manager launches new arts project at King's Lynn hospital
A new arts project at Lynn's Queen Elizabeth Hospital will be launched when a senior manager takes on a fundraising challenge this weekend.
The initiative aims to raise enough funds to provide items such as a memorial tree for patients in the hospital's garden of peace and hope, and to set up a gallery for local artists to display their art, music and literary events for patients.
And the hospital's chief transformation officer, Ciara Moore, will launch the programme this Saturday, May 26, by taking part in the 100 kilometre London2Brighton walking challenge.
It will be her second 100km walk, having previously walked from the capital to Cambridge two years ago.
She said: “I try to do 10,000 steps per day in the week and I quite often go for a 10 or 15-mile walk at the weekends with my dog.
“I like the countryside and I enjoy walking. It’s easy and a good way of keeping healthy – I’d encourage people to do it.”
