Service chiefs hail Norfolk firefighters for ambulance driving work
Firefighters in Norfolk completed nearly 300 shifts as ambulance drivers in the first month of a new scheme triggered by the coronavirus crisis, officials say.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service personnel began working alongside colleagues from the East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) last month.
And the services now say the measure has paid off, with firefighters helping to deliver babies and with lifesaving resuscitations in the course of their work.
