Sex club at Setchey transforms into a unique lounge experience
The pandemic saw adult club, The Annex, closing it's doors to patrons and as we emerge from lockdown the popular club has evolved into an immersive dining experience.
Now dubbed the Voodoo Lounge, the rooms formerly used for adult escapades have been re-modelled into individually themed dining lounges within the venue. Owner VJ has turned the former 'dungeon' room into an 'incarceration' prison themed lounge.
Amongst the other five private themed rooms are a cinema lounge and a pirate 'Crows Nest' lounge.
VJ said: "For now, I am creating something new for this area, immersive dining is often seen in cities like London. Patrons are encouraged to dress up, socialise within their tribe of six and escape the mudane. Dress up in burlesque, latex, steampunk costumes or whatever makes you feel good. Show up wearing a ballgown if you want to. The Annex has always been an adult playground and that hasn't changed. We don't want people to come dressed casually, it's an invitation to be an extreme version of yourself"
Customers will be served by 'Voodoo Dolls', hosts/hostesses dressed in Voodoo themed costumes, an idea that VJ says was partially motivated by the pandemic. She told the Lynn News: "Because masks are an element of Voodoo, we can remain covid safe without looking surgical. It's important for me to make the Voodoo Lounge as covid safe as possible, people will pre-book their lounge which is theirs for the whole evening from opening 'til closing. They must stick to their bubbles in their chosen area and strictly no contact sports."
The menu will rotate often and will be themed, the music in the lounge will reflect the atmosphere.
VJ said: "We may do Mexican and Japanese for example. There will also be vegetarian, gluten free and nut free options. Meals will be served on shareable platters and served in five courses, with a selection of drinks available to purchase from your Doll"
This exciting new venture aims to be open by late May, in line with Government guidance.
When asked if the Voodoo Lounge would ever revert back to The Annex, VJ said: "If adult clubs are allowed to open as before, I will re-open The Annex and could open up the Voodoo Lounge closer to the town. The lounge could become a fusion of strip and food eventually."
