Shocking West Norfolk CCTV footage 'shows how hit and run driver could have left me for dead'

A West Norfolk man has told how he was "left for dead" in an alleged hit and run incident.

Shocking CCTV footage has emerged of the moment Dean Dale was struck by a vehicle in Terrington St Clement on Friday night.

Mr Dale said he had been making his way to his local pub when the incident happened.

The footage below, caught by a nearby CCTV camera, shows Mr Dale being hit.

Despite the impact, Mr Dale escaped with only a badly bruised leg and elbow.

He is still unfit for work, but says doctors told him he was "very lucky."

He added: "The next day I found the car in Morrison's car park, completely by accident, it still had the dents in it from where it hit me.

"I took pictures of it and showed them to the police.

"If I could say something to the person driving the car I would say, 'I'm less annoyed by you hitting me, and more annoyed that you didn't stop- you could have left me for dead.

"It's been pretty gruesome, luckily one kind stranger found me and took me home, as I was stranded by the side of the road with no working phone."

Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident, which was reported at around 9.30pm.

They say a blue Ford Fiesta was involved and is believed to have sustained significant damage, including a lost wing mirror.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101.
