Shop and tearooms in Downham Market to close after relocation plans fall through
A homeware retailer in Downham will be closing its doors at the end of the month, after plans to relocate to a more central area fell through.
The shop and tea rooms at Charmed Interiors, which has been located in its converted barn home at The Hythe for 10 years, will close on Saturday, August 31.
There had been plans to relocate to Wales Court, but these have recently fallen through.
Owner Jason Sutton said: "Moving to a central, more strategic location had been key to the shop's future in Downham Market.
"Unfortunately once the negotiations fell through and it was clear that such a move was no longer possible, we had no choice but to make this extremely difficult decision."
The Charmed name will live on at The Hythe location as Salon@ Charmed Interiors, run by Lilian L'Amour has plans to expand into the vacated space.
Three more treatment rooms will be created in the space and additional beauty therapists will be recruited.
Fans of Charmed Interiors will still be able to visit the sister shop at 15 Bridge Street in Spalding, while the online shop provides free delivery to Downham, at www.charmed-interiors.co.uk.
