Plans have been submitted to create a shop in a Snettisham pub with a tragic past.
The Co-operative Group has applied to create a store in The Compasses, where young landlady Becky Thorpe was murdered in 2010.
The food chain also wants to extend the building to create an office.
The application states: “The proposal is to extend the ground floor to allow for a single use as a retail unit with storage.
“The gross ground floor internal area is 310m² (including storage).
“The proposal also allows for an entrance and lobby at ground floor accessing the first floor offices. The lobby and first floor internal area is 265 square metres.
“The rear yard will serve as such for the proposed retail unit.”
It is proposed to have a total of 19 parking spaces for staff and customers.
Previous planning applications had envisaged houses, flats and a ground floor retail unit at the site.
Miss Thorpe, 28, was shot and her body placed in a freezer by her partner, Michael Tucker, who was 51 at the time. He was eventually sentenced to serve a minimum of 22 years in prison for the killing.
