A shoplifter has been banned from six Lynn shops.

Lucas Turnbull, 22, admitted four counts of shoplifting when he appeared before Lynn magistrates earlier today (Thursday, March 3).

He stole a set of headphones and two bluetooth speakers from Wilkinson’s on Feburary 16 and ten days later took two bottles of Gucci Bamboo fragrance, worth £117 from Debenhams.

He returned to the store on March 1 when he stole four bottles of perfume and on March 2 he took a bottle of Coke and chocolate bars from Tesco. All items were recovered.

Mitigating, Charlotte Winchester told the court that Turnbull, who gave a care of address in Hillington Square, Lynn, was living a chaotic lifestyle as he had been sofa surfing.

She said he suffers from depression, stress and anxiety and had recently lost his benefits.

Miss Winchester said: “His life had spiralled out of control in the last few weeks since his benefit stopped.”

The court heard that Turnbull was subject to two previous community orders, which were revoked. He was sentenced to 12 weeks imprisonment which would be suspended for 12 months.

Magistrates also made an order banning him from Debenhams, Wilkinsons and four Tesco stores.
