Money-off gesture by Hunstanton shops
Grateful business owners at Hunstanton are saying thank you to their customers by offering residents money-off coupons.
It is part of the town mayor’s Go Local-Love Hunstanton campaign to give businesses a boost and is the first of a number of promotions aimed at boosting trade.
In return nearly 20 businesses are offering residents a discount on any purchases they make over £5 with a 50p money-off coupon which can be used until midnight on Sunday, August 23.
The mayor, Tony Bishopp, said: “We know how difficult trading has been for our local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic. When we came up with this scheme our local businesses were more than happy to participate and we are delighted to be able to help in any way we can to support the town in these difficult times.”
The leaflets, which were distributed over the weekend to residents’ homes, contain a total of 19 separate single-use 50p money-off coupons.
All that residents have to do is to cut out the coupon and present their voucher to the participating shop of their choice when they make a purchase.
More Go Local promotions are being planned for the future.
Earlier this year, the mayor organised a children’s competition to design a logo for the Go Local-Love Hunstanton campaign. The winning logo, designed by 15-year-old Zerrin Mitchell, features on the front page of the money-off leaflets.
