Families shared stories of new friendships with North West Norfolk MP Sir Henry Bellingham when he visited chat and play group Trading Links on Thursday at St Augustine’s Healthy Living Centre in Lynn.
People’s Health Trust has invested £13,720 in Norfolk-based organisation Hanseatic Union, using money raised by HealthSuccess through the Health Lottery. The funding has been used to support Trading Links – a project delivering family-focused social activities for children and parents. The group holds two-hour chat and play sessions every week.
They also hold bi-monthly family social events such as day trips, fun days, taking part in sports and arts chosen by the group. During his visit, Sir Henry met with parents and spoke about how the project had benefitted them. He also met with Hanseatic Union committee members to learn more about the project and the impact it’s having. Julie Chaplin, Hanseatic Union committee member, said: “The group really enjoyed having their local MP at one of their sessions.
“It was great for the parents to have an opportunity to talk to Henry Bellingham and tell him about their experiences of being involved in Trading Links. We’re really grateful for this funding, without it our project wouldn’t be
Sir Henry said: “It was fantastic to have to have the opportunity to visit Hanseatic Union and see Trading Links in action.
