Staithe Smokehouse at The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe is taking orders for delivery
Fish smoked beside the salt marshes at Brancaster Staithe can be still be ordered and delivered as a smokehouse business continues to operate.
Staithe Smokehouse is owned by husband and wife Phil and Fran Hartshorne and is based at The White Horse where Fran is the head chef.
During the lockdown, while Fran is busy at home writing up new recipes to add to the inn's menu when eventually it reopens, Phil is continuing to prepare fish which can be delivered in the local area.
James Nye, managing director of Anglian Country Inns (ACI) which owns The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors located in the same village, said: "During the lockdown, we are supporting Fran and Phil. This amazing duo have been part of the ACI family for many years, both are passionate about Norfolk and the provenance and sustainability of produce that create our menus.
"Phil smokes fresh fish and shellfish in the traditional ways, no cutting corners and no chemicals or dyes. He uses the best oak shavings and allows plenty of time for the saturation so the flavour is just incredible. We love to use Staithe Smokehouse fish on our menus at The White Horse."
Anyone who would like to order smoked fish, such as a side of salmon or some haddock, can call Phil at the Staithe Smokehouse on 07717 702630 where he is taking orders for delivery. Details are on his website and social channels www.staithesmokehouse.co.uk or staithesmokehouse.
