Snettisham cricket ground features in national book
Snettisham Cricket Club has been included in a new cricket book entitled Remarkable Village Cricket Grounds by author Brian Levinson.
Pictured from left to right are club president Edward Stanton, who was presented with a signed copy of the book, and Snettisham Cricket Club chairman Tim Clarey.
Current first team wicketkeeper at the club, Gary Forder, suggested a signed copy should be presented to Mr Stanton in recognition to his long-standing association with the club and his unstinting support.
The only other Norfolk cricket grounds to feature in the nationwide book are Holkham and Aldborough.
Mr Levinson, a writer of several cricket books who has a lifelong interest in the sport, sent his photographer David Major to Snettisham in early summer this year to take some pictures of a match at the ground with the iconic St Marys Church in the background.
The ground was then published in the 224-page Pavillion Books edition, which costs £25.
Snettisham Cricket Club is welcoming new members for the 2019 season, including men, women and youth players from the ages of five to 18.
