Snow falls on King's Lynn's Tuesday Market Place

We are always traditionally dreaming of a White Christmas. But it rarely comes to pass.

At least for a time yesterday afternoon, the Dukes Head Hotel on Lynn's Tuesday Market Place made it almost seem it was coming true.

The hotel employed a fake snow machine to turn the area in front of the building white with the snow descending from an upstairs room window.

A witness said: "It was very convincing. When I saw it coming down I thought, 'blimey, it is snowing!' It was only then I saw the snow machine blower up above. Everyone was stopping and taking photos."

The actual real weather tomorrow for Christmas Day will be cloudy and cold with temperatures of just 4C feeling more like sub-zero in an easterly breeze. But is should stay dry.
