Black Swan Care Home celebrates 30th anniversary since first care home purchase of Hunstanton’s Nightingale Lodge
Residents, relatives and friends have joined the founding directors of a care home group in Hunstanton for a party to celebrate 30 years since a home was purchased.
The Black Swan Group bought Nightingale Lodge on Austin Street on Saturday, June 22, 1994 as three friends and business colleagues fulfilled a dream.
This anniversary has been celebrated with an afternoon tea party at the home with many people attending.
Founding director Brett Burton said: “I’m so proud to be here celebrating our first care home purchase back in 1994.
“Nightingale House obviously has a significant part in our history, and to see how we’ve grown to become the group of homes that we are across the East of England is quite humbling.
“Every one of our homes sits at the heart of its local community, with a great reputation, with dedicated, well-trained staff, providing the best, high-quality care service. Here’s to the next 30 years.”
Black Swan Care Group, which was founded in 1991, started as a business consultancy for the care sector, mostly instructed to give advice to UK banks.
Since its first purchase of Nightingale Lodge, it has acquired 21 more care homes across East Anglia.
