A well-known soap actor has kickstarted the new year with a visit to West Norfolk.

Adam Woodyatt, who is known for playing the role of Ian Beale in EastEnders, posted a photo on his Instagram account sharing what he was doing on the first day of 2024 – enjoying a walk on the Royal Sandringham Estate.

The 55-year-old actor, who has portrayed Ian since the show’s inception in 1985, wrote yesterday: "I’m not one for making New Year resolutions but I am going to try and post more often on here - so here we go.

"Went for a little five-mile walk around the Sandringham Royal Park this morning.

"Stopped at this platform which looked out over the Dersingham Bog to The Wash in the distance.

"It was really good to get out in the fresh air after all the excess and excitement of Christmas.

“Happy New Year."

Woodyatt recently returned to Albert Square as his iconic character Ian in the summer, having taken an “extended break” from the soap in 2020.
