A man who admitted punchinghis father in the back has been given a nine month community order.
A court heard that Shane Hendry, 32, had attacked his father, who watched the proceedings from the public gallery, in Fakenham on the afternoon of May 5, before grabbing his rucksack and running off.
He was subsequently arrested in the garden, where two lock knives, which he said he kept for making wood carvings, were found in the bag.
Hendry, of Highfield, Field Dalling, pleaded guilty to charges of assault and possession of an offensive weapon during a hearing at the Lynn magistrates court on Friday.
He was ordered to pay a £180 criminal courts charge, £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
