A rare lighting of its gas lamp will feature as part of celebrations at Fakenham Museum of Gas and Local History on Thursday, May 14, to mark the importance of a host of museums nationwide.
The gates of the Hempton Road premises will be open from 10.30am to 1pm and again from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
To accompany the lamp lighting there will be a recital of the poem The Lamplighter by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Long-serving president Mike Bridges will also lead a short tour of the site which is renowned as the last remaining complete gas works in England and Wales.
And Dr Bridges will be signing copies of his two most recent booklets entitled Fakenham, Norfolk and World War 1 and Gas Works at War.
Copies of both are currently for sale, priced at £3 each.
