A West Norfolk man who took a kitchen knife outside his home after being “spooked” by noises inside has been jailed for six months.

It was Wayne Thompson’s second conviction of being in possession of a knife in a public place so he was liable to the mandatory minimum sentence.

Police were called to the 41-year-old’s home on the Fairstead estate in Lynn by people in a passing car who had spotted the knife.
