Residents in Gaywood got together as part of the Keep Britain Tidy Great British Spring Clean to clear the litter from Spring Lane, in Gaywood.

The community litter pick kits were provided by West Norfolk Council and more than 20 bags were collected, plus a dumped bath!

Organiser Gaywood South Liberal Democrat county councillor Rob Colwell said “I’ve walked this stretch much more frequently since lockdown and sadly noticed it get progressively worse with litter over recent months.

"People walking past stopped us to say thank you and indicated they felt local schools should do more to stop the litter.”

The group, which was also joined by Independent councillor for Springwood, Jo Rust, have said they plan to meet again later in the year, as the area around Queen Elizabeth Park to Gaywood River needs urgent attention.
