Staff at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust celebrate ‘outstanding’ rating
Staff at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C) are celebrating after being awarded an ‘outstanding’ rating for their care.
The rating follows an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the findings of which were published yesterday.
It found people in Lynn and West Norfolk who use the trust’s community nursing therapy services, are receiving “good quality, effective health service with outstanding levels of care from a responsive and well-led community trust”.
Director of nursing and quality at NCH&C, Anna Morgan said: “We are absolutely thrilled by the result of this report.
“To be rated as outstanding is a huge achievement and given the importance of community services in supporting children and families to get the best start in life, caring for the elderly and helping people maintain their independence for as long as possible.
“The trust was found to have compassionate, inclusive and effective leadership at all levels.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank staff whose care and dedication has made this possible.”
In its report into services provided by NCH&C, the CQC rateD the trust overall as “outstanding” with an “outstanding” rating being achieved in two of the five regulatory criteria, those of delivering care and being a well-led trust.
The inspection, which took place during a visit undertaken in February and March, assessed in detail three of the service areas delivered by NCH&C, community health inpatient services, community health service for adult, and community health services for children, young people and families.
The CQC also looked specifically at the quality of its leadership and how the trust used its resources.
