Summerhill Veterinary Centre in Fakenham needs help to find 13-year-old missing clinic cat Toggle
When she was brought to the vet as a kitten 13 years ago, staff kept her as a clinic pet - now she is nowhere to be found.
Toggle, who lives at the Summerhill Veterinary Centre on Queen’s Road in Fakenham, has been missing since Wednesday, May 7.
More than a month later, there is still no luck in the search for the black and white cat.
“It was unheard of for her not to come in for her food,” clinical director Lucy Rivett said.
“She never missed a meal - she was always here morning and evening and pestering the staff for food.”
Toggle has been at the practice for more than 13 years, and staff and clients say they all enjoy seeing her - but are worried that something may have happened to her.
“She wasn’t the kind of cat to jump in front of cars, but that was a concern,” Lucy added.
“If she has been involved in a car accident or has taken herself off to die, which old cats will do, it’s strange that nobody has found her.”
Although she is older and has arthritis, Toggle was not unwell at the time of her disappearance, and the practice had no concerns about her health at that stage.
“It has had a real impact on all of the staff just because lots of them have been here since she was a kitten,” Lucy said.
“Seeing her here day in day out, everyone is affected as anyone would be with their own pet.”
She added that the disappearance is particularly strange as Toggle never wandered far.
“The team would just prefer to know if someone is aware of an accident,” she said.
Those with information can contact Summerhill by calling 01328 855814, emailing info@summerhillvets.co.uk or messaging its Facebook page, even if it is anonymous.
The centre will also accept a letter through the door.
“We do not need to know who is responsible, just what happened,” Lucy added.
“For that, our team will be forever grateful.”
