Stoke Ferry Agricultural Society’s annual wheat competition was held at Ryston Park Golf Club on Tuesday when trophies were presented by Bill Clark, commercial technical director from NIAB.
There were ten entries in the winter wheat competition and farmer Robert Smart, from Terrington St John, grew the winning sample of Coridale with a specific weight of 84.0. Bill Legge, of Southery, grew the winning sample of Malika with a specific weight of 79.2 in the spring wheat competition.
Next meeting is on Tuesday, February 3, at the golf club.
