A police cordon was set up following the discovery of bloodied items, which were later found to be from an animal, in Stoke Ferry on Friday night.

Officers were called to an area of woodland in Stoke Road at around 6.30pm after the items were discovered.

However, police confirmed the cordon had been lifted on Saturday morning following initial inquiries.
