King’s Lynn and Downham Market students enjoy trip to Pleasurewood Hills in 1998

In our weekly Memory Lane Schooldays feature, we take a look back at some school trip fun from 1998…

More than 50 special needs children from schools at Lynn and Downham spent a day at Pleasurewood Hills, near Lowestoft, in June 1998.

The fun factor was high for this annual trip organised by Lynn Trinity Rotary Club, with help from other clubs at Lynn, Hunstanton and Downham.

There was also a civic send-off as the coaches were waved off from Lynn by West Norfolk Mayor, Dr Paul Richards.

The organiser, Chris Sykes of the Trinity Club, said afterwards: “Everyone had a wonderful time and we even managed to miss the worst of the rain.”
