Success at forth annual Terrington Beer Festival
The forth annual Terrington Beer Festival went “remarkably well”, says owners daughter.
The festival, which was held at the Wildfowler, Terrington St Clement, on June 10, has been described as the “best beer festival in four years”.
Deborah Slingsby, whose parents own The Wildfowler, said: “The beer festival went remarkably well. Everybody was so pleased with how it went and it was really busy.
“I would say over the Saturday and Sunday there was 500 plus people in attendance on both days. It was packed.”
The Terrington Beer Festival was raising money for the Terrington Community Fund, which supports individuals, social groups and clubs in the village with money to complete their projects.
A spokesman from Terrington Community Fund said: “In the January 2009 a few friends from the village of Terrington St Clement called a meeting to discuss the merits of staging a pantomime for the local community.
“The original members of the panto committee inspired by their success decided to raise more funds in different ways to help the local community.
“The panto committee changed its name to the Terrington Community Fund, a constitution was drawn up and with the blessing of the parish council the fundraising began.”
Ms Slingsby has thanked everybody who took part in the beer festival, with a special thanks to the staff.
