A village hall committee which received a Lottery grant is appealing for more ideas to ensure the building is well used.
Barroway Drove Village Hall received a £3,000 Big Lottery Grant in September to stage a range of activities at the site.
Scores of people went along to the first of these events, a family discovery day, which was held on Sunday.
Committee member Vicki Howling was delighted with the event’s success.
She said: “The day was about encouraging people to use the hall for the first time.
“It went really well and we were really pleased with the turn-out.
“We had lots of people from the village who had not perhaps come along to events at the hall but visited on Sunday to find out what we were doing.”
Pony rides, traditional games and a bouncy castle were among the attractions.
The village history group also organised a display, plus there was a video of a keep fit class run at the site.
Jewellery making was among the craft and charity stalls set out at the hall. There were also a host of refreshments on offer during the day.
Further events are planned at the hall using the Lottery money.
A psychic evening will be held on October 29, along with a choir concert after Christmas.
Badminton equipment is also being bought .
The committee would welcome more ideas from villagers of events and clubs which could be held at the hall.
