Stradsett Hall Downham Market stars DC & Marvel super-heroes Superman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Black Widow, Captain America, dinosaurs, plus Disney's Cinderella, Beauty & the Beast and Elsa from Frozen

Superman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman, Black Widow, Captain America and Disney characters starred at Superheroes Family Weekender at Stradsett Hall.

Disney characters like Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast's Princess Belle, and Elsa and Queen Anna of Arendelle from Frozen appeared as well as Super Mario, jugglers, other entertainers and dinosaurs.

The event, which takes place annually on the estate near Downham, on Saturday and Sunday raised money for EACH (East Anglia's Children's Hospices) and a final figure will be worked-out.

There were of course the princesses and cos-players to entertain the crowds.

But many children also entered into the spirit of the weekend and came in fancy dress as their favourite DC and Marvel super-hero and Disney characters.

Organiser Philip Gray from Norfolk-based Grays Funfair rides have entertained families in the leisure industry all over East Anglia for 150 years, said: "It was a lovely event.

"It rained on the Saturday and Sunday which knocked the figures but we had a really good Sunday.

"Over the years we've raised thousands for EACH, I do it out of my own pocket.

"I pay for everything and sell tickets to raise the money and get my costs back and try to make money for the charity. It's six months' work behind it all."

For an entry ticket as well as the meet and greet with various cartoon and hero characters, there was free entertainment such as an under-5s trampolining zone, beach zone area, clown circus workshop, themed entertainment, Hulk buster, princess live shows and story-time, magician, heroes dance offs in the main arena.

At an additional cost were a host of other attractions including princess makeovers, birds of prey, craft stalls, facepainting, stall holders, fairground rides and refreshments.
