A £2,000 donation has been presented to the East Anglian Children’s Hospice (EACH) by Swaffham-based members of a district charitable group.

The money was raised by the King’s Lynn and District provincial grand lodge of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes, of which the Swaffham lodge is part.

And members handed over the cheque during a presentation at the Swaffham lodge’s headquarters last week.

Paul Jacklin, the lodge’s Grand Primo, said: “After researching EACH, I was moved by the work that the hospices do to help, not only helping the child, but also the support that it offers to the family during the time of illness, and subsequently with helping the family with all aspects of the grieving process.

“Although we all hope to never need the services of EACH, I am very pleased they are there, to assist in making the time left in a very young life, as comfortable and pleasurable for the child and their family as possible.”

Rose Peasgood, EACH’s Norfolk fundraiser, who accepted the cheque on behalf of the charity, said: “There are so many ways to support EACH and we are really pleased that Paul decided to support us.

“This is an amazing amount and will go a long way in providing care and support to local life-threatened children and their families.”
