A Swaffham cadet’s dedication to her St John Ambulance unit has been recognised by the presentation of its top award.

Zoe Hembling, 17, has been given the Grand Prior award, the highest honour available to a cadet.

The award recognises effort and achievement in 24 subject areas, including first aid, communication and community work.

Zoe, who has been a cadet since the age of five, received her award, along with the unit’s cadet of the year award, from unit manager Rob Rowling.

The ceremony, which also saw five new cadets join the group, was attended by guests including town mayor Anne Thorp.
