A developer is still refusing to pay up for the cost of a disputed footpath outside two Swaffham homes, town councillors have been told.
Last month, Ian Jessett, of Walnut Farm Developments, claimed his firm was being treated unfairly as officials expected them to pay more than double the initially estimated cost of a path outside its development on North Pickenham Road.
But council officials have refused to back down, insisting that his company should adhere to the conditions of its planning consent.
During his report to Wednesday’s town council meeting, district councillor Frank Sharpe said the company was still refusing to comply and the matter would be treated as a debt to be collected if it was not dealt with.
He said: “There’s a little way to go before it’s resolved.”
