LEARN MOREA man heard the distressed cries of a mother duck and lifted up a drain cover to scoop out her brood, who were cheeping below.
Lee Martin, who has worked as one of the longest standing market greengrocer's in Swaffham the posted the video to social media.
He said: "Busy setting up Swaffham market and heard mother duck in distress."
Jamie Crofts and Clive Laws, who work for Mr Martin, lifted up the drain cover as Mr Martin had recently broken his arm.
Mr Martin told the Lynn News: "We saw nine ducklings and the mother duck whilst setting up the market, then we heard her quacking and noticed there were
only five ducklings with her. That's when the lads lifted the cover up and got them out, It's a lovely feeling."
In the video he can be seen lifting off the cover of the drain and taking each duckling out.
The family of birds then walked off together.
Mr Martin has expressed concern about members of the public feeding the ducks in the centre of town: "We will see more incidents like this if people keep feeding the ducks. There is duck excrement everywhere too.
Please feed the ducks at the duckpond, we have a lovely duckpond in Swaffham."
Mr Martin shared the video to Norfolk Produce's Facebook page, where he showcases local produce from Norfolk farmers.
