It’s third time around for one of the founder members of the Swaffham Lions club as he took up the chains of presidential office once again.

Colin Mowles has assumed the role, succeeding Simon Fowler, who himself took up the role following the sudden death of the previous president, Rod Goodwin, at the beginning of this year.

Mr Mowles previously served as club president in 1985-86 and 1994-95.

Members are looking forward to an active year supporting a range of local good causes and events.

They will be staffing an emergency point at this weekend’s market 800th anniversary celebrations for lost children to be reunited with their families.
