Members of the Swaffham Lions club paid tribute to their former president when they hosted their annual World Quiz at the town’s Assembly Rooms last Wednesday.

The event raised £500 for the British Heart Foundation, who members chose to support in memory of the club’s president Rod Goodwin, who died on New Year’s Day, aged 69.

More than 60 people took part in the quiz with reigning champions Rusty Nails retaining their crown by just two points from the team representing the Swaffham Rotary Club.

The quiz was devised and compered by former club president Simon Fowler, Mr Goodwin’s predecessor.
