A community group has held a collection to help fund vital support for blind and visually-impaired people.

Members of the Swaffham Lions Club collected funds for the Guide Dogs charity during a fundraising effort at the town’s Tesco store.

The club also contributes to a national Lions programme to recycle old pairs of glasses and reckons to have sent more than 100,000 pairs off for the programme, where the glasses are shipped to France to be recycled, to date.
