A Swaffham man has been given a three year criminal behaviour order, which police say will help to address alcohol concerns.

Daniel Minton, 28, formerly of Orford Road, was jailed for 28 days earlier this month for offences of theft and exposure.

Lynn magistrates approved an application for the order during a separate hearing on Monday.

It requires him to work with the Norfolk Recovery Partnership and attend any course or workshop they offer on alcohol or drug misuse.

A Norfolk Police spokesman said: “The appointment will assist him in receiving appropriate support with NRP, to help address substance/alcohol misuse issues and to improve his insight into the effect of alcohol on his behaviour.”

The order also bars him from entering any premises in Swaffham where alcohol is sold, other than Waitrose in Castle Acre Road.

Minton had previously pleaded guilty to a theft from Swaffham’s Tesco store and an exposure offence, both of which were committed in July last year, at a hearing in mid-March.
