A key member of staff at Swaffham’s Nicholas Hamond Academy has been honoured for her contribution to the school during a ceremony held at the House of Commons.
Jill Hamwright, PA to the school’s principal Cheryl Hill, received the award during a presentation event held by the school’s sponsors, the Academies Transformation Trust.
Described as “the lynch pin around which most things circulate”, she has been the driving force behind the school’s Support the Students Association, which has now received charitable status.
Jill was one of 17 award winners to receive prizes at the ceremony.
The trust’s managing director, Joyce Hodgetts, said: “It was a great pleasure to recognise the many achievements of our pupils, staff and Governors’ throughout this year.
“It is important that we take time to stop and reflect and celebrate the positive contributions being made by our family of academies in Norfolk and throughout the country.”
