Swaffham water leak repair work is paused

Work to resolve a water leak in a Norfolk market town has had to be put on hold due to traffic management.

Anglian Water were called to fix the leak on Lynn Street in Swaffham after a resident took to social media to report the issue yesterday.

She said: "Please, please can you fix the water leak in Lynn Street, Swaffham. For one thing, it’s worryingly close to my house but also every drop counts!"

A spokesman for Anglian Water said the leak is from a customer stop tap, but the job has had to be paused due to the need for traffic management on the road.

He added: "I believe it's still being planned at the moment so the team can go in and put some two-way lights up."

The resident, who did not wish to be named, told the Lynn News: "It was reported to Anglian Water on June 1 and it is still not resolved. There is now also a hole in the tarmac in the middle of the road, and water is constantly spewing out."
