First look at what Pensthorpe nature reserve’s courtyard café could look like after six-figure refurbishment
A nature reserve’s café refurbishment is set to start this month - here is what it could look like when complete.
Pensthorpe, near Fakenham, announced it would be upgrading its courtyard café as part of a six-figure investment back in January.
Now, as the business prepares for the renovations to start on May 12, it has revealed some artist impressions of what it might look like when it is finished in the autumn.
Ed Chapman, catering and hospitality manager, said: “We’re all really excited to see the café refurbishment getting under way - it’s been years in the planning and the whole team has had input along the way.
“The new space will be brighter, more spacious and thoughtfully designed, helping us serve our visitors even more efficiently, especially during busy times.
“At the same time, we’ve made sure it still feels like Pensthorpe - warm, welcoming, and surrounded by nature.
“We’re proud of the café’s role in the visitor experience, and this investment means we can offer something even better, without losing what people already love.”
The refurbishment will include:
• Full-length glazing
• A serving counter which is three times bigger
• An additional till to shorten queues
• A new serving hatch so customers can enjoy their food and drink on the lawn
• New barista-style coffee machines
• New tables, chairs and flooring
• A purpose-built kitchen, with new equipment
The café will remain open throughout the refurbishment, but staff say there may be some occasional disruption, which they will do their best to minimise.
