Exciting year for The Golden Lion in Hunstanton saw refurbished conservatory unveiled
An exciting year for The Golden Lion in Hunstanton culminated in its newly-refurbished conservatory opening up.
The historic hotel reopened last March after a major programme of works, with a £1million ground floor revamp and plans to convert a former nightclub area into bedrooms among the highlights.
Now, staff have given the Lynn News a look inside the new conservatory, which is filled with gorgeous paintings and comes with a view of the sea.
A spokesperson for the hotel said that feedback on the space has been “amazing” so far, with the owners “really pleased with the outcome”.
“We are still working on getting the garden summer ready,” they added, with the conservatory having opened in November.
The Golden Lion was the centre point of the vision of Henry L’estrange in the mid-1800s as he looked to create a new seaside resort.
It was the only building between Heacham and the lighthouse on the cliffs for more than 14 years.
Originally called The New Inn, the hotel has welcomed visitors for 180 years.
