Socius restaurant at Burnham Market looks to introduce new services for community
Burnham Market tapas-style restaurant Socius is looking to diversify with a view to supporting the local community during the coronavirus outbreak.
It is in the process of creating a take-out menu, developing some in-home meal kits and looking at providing a community shop service, offering freshly prepared Socius favourites, dry goods essentials, fresh produce, beer and wine. The services are expected to be up and running by next week.
The restaurant is run by Dan Lawrence and Natalie Stuhler, who said: "Whilst we remain open, this will be collection only. However, if we are forced to close we will also explore the possibility of offering a delivery service.
"We set up Socius to provide a place for the community, where everyone is welcome to enjoy great food and drink. We plan to continue to do just that until we’re advised otherwise.
"We will continue to provide a safe environment for guests to dine with us and we are currently following the governmental guidelines. Of course, we still have all of our strict hygiene measures in place, but we’ve also adjusted our table spacing.
"We do still have bookings in place. However, if you are feeling unwell or have any concerns, please do cancel your table to ensure we can continue to operate safely."
Socius remains open and ready to support the community until advised otherwise, she added.
The Crown Inn at Gayton has set up a new takeaway service for customers.
