Review of King’s Lynn’s Cobbles: Tea room provides quaint tea beside the quayside

.

If you are looking for a quaint tea beside the quayside then I can recommend Cobbles Tea Room.

It is on South Quay in Lynn and is a perfect place for a lunch-hour catch up with a friend.

Based in Hanse House, the tea room is cool and quaint with dressers showcasing vintage tableware and a grandfather clock stands in the corner.

The tea room is cool and airy which is a welcome relief in the current weather conditions and it is a lovely place for all occasions.

My friend and I shared the Traditional Cobble, a classic high tea for £22 which was beautifully presented on a tiered cake stand.

It included finger sandwiches filled with egg, ham, cheese and pickle, and cream cheese and cucumber.

These were delicious and light, and accompanied by a teacup of crisps on the side.

A choice of a sweet or cheese scone was on offer and as I have a savoury tooth more often than a sweet, I had the latter with crème fraîche and chilli jam.

These were filling and tasty and my friend really liked hers too and also commented on how nice the decor was, with fairy lights and vintage cutlery. A selection of homemade cakes and treats rounded off what was a pleasurable visit and I also took a couple of cakes back to the office which were vegan and described as “lovely”.

We washed our treats down with a refillable pot of tea, I had English Breakfast and my friend had Earl Grey.

As it was so hot on Friday, we also sampled the J2O Spritz and commendations to the serving staff as when we had a spill mishap they were straight over to mop myself and the floor up.

Thankfully, I dried off quickly outside in the sun.

Cobbles is a quaint tea room on the quay and perfect for a lunch hour visit or a special occasion and I highly recommend it.
