Lynn's JD Cooling cycle hundreds of miles to raise £1,600 for charity
Team JD Cooling from Lynn got on their bikes to pedal hundreds of miles across the Lincolnshire Wolds and raised £1,600 for charity.
The five cyclists set out on Friday as part of the Branston Century Cycle Ride. Branston is one of JD Cooling's clients and this is the fourth annual ride to raise funds for its charity of the year, Rethink Mental Illness in England.
The journey began at Branston's Lincoln HQ for the JD Cooling team and other cyclists, who biked around Lincolnshire before returning to base..
JD Cooling's team of cyclists consisted of group service director Richard Corby, Gina Hurrell, from accounts and Gary Smith, from stores, who each cycled 100 miles, plus contracts supervisor Mark Pierson and contracts administrator Samantha Simper, who completed a 50-mile route.
Said Samantha: "It was a very challenging but brilliant event. Richard, Gina and Gary did amazingly well in completing the 100 miles, which saw them battle a number of tough inclines across the Lincolnshire Wolds.
"Myself and Mark also completed 50 tough miles, plus another ten or more after a few wrong turns, but we still managed to finish in great time!
"So far, between the five of us, we’ve raised around £1,600.00, which is fantastic."
JD Cooling has worked with Branston for about eight years and has installed many cooling systems at their Lincoln site, which includes long-term energy-efficient storage facilities.
